With it, never ahead of it.
We grow intelligence no faster than the trust it grows alongside. Speed is never a reason.
The company
Mission
We make thinking machines light enough to live on what people already own, and honest enough that their answers can be tested by the person relying on them. We build them so that whoever holds one can do more, own more, and answer for more than they could before. Everything else we leave to the people it belongs to.
Light enough to live on what people already own. Honest enough to be tested by the one relying on it.
Do more, own more, answer for more. Growth in capacity, in possession, and in accountability, together.
Everything else. The uses, the profit, the direction. Those belong to the people who hold the key.
Values
We grow intelligence no faster than the trust it grows alongside. Speed is never a reason.
We claim nothing you cannot check for yourself, and we never grade our own work.
We build for the person with the least, on what they already own. If it cannot live there, it is not finished.
We take no work whose purpose is that a person ends up less.
What a person holds is theirs. No door locks from our side.
Enough people to do the work, few enough to refuse it. What we need not keep, we give.
Two are about trust. Three are about the rise, because a company that only promised safety would have promised the status quo. One is about us.
The shape
The first door funds the house. The second builds companies. The third builds the people who build them. Every engagement produces method the Studio reuses. Every Studio company needs people the learning door has taught. Every trained person is a future client, colleague or founder. Remove any one door and the other two stop compounding.
Five to ten people, permanently. Enough to do the work, few enough to refuse it. What we do not need to keep, we give away: method, evidence, and room for others to build. A small company does not grow into an ecosystem by hiring. It grows one by letting go, and by making sure the things it lets go of are worth picking up.
Scale, for us, is not headcount. It is how many people hold a key.
Today
Incorporating, in Kochi. A first result in domain-specialised small models, under evaluation before we describe it further in public. The first Studio company, The Key 4 Learning, exists, and its product, Clarify, is built and in early access. No clients yet. A vision, a mission and six values, written down before any of them cost us anything.
The first public artefact, free, through the learning door. The first engagement through door one. Then the first Studio conversation, once door one is funding the house. In that order, on purpose.
We are telling you this rather than letting you find it. A company whose craft includes proving things does not get to hide its own starting point.
